E51.- The Absent Man in the Gospel Story of the Adulterous Woman: Hypocrisy and Injustice
Have you ever experienced being unfairly singled out while others with the same responsibility escape scrutiny? The story of the adulterous woman in John 8:1-11 powerfully exposes issues of hypocrisy and injustice. In this account, the religious leaders drag a woman caught in adultery before Jesus, hoping to trap Him by asking whether she should be stoned according to the Law of Moses. The complete absence of the man involved in the act stands out glaringly in this narrative. Doesn’t it take two to tango? Why is the Law of Moses not applied to him? The Gospel’s failure to mention the adulterous man raises critical questions about hypocrisy and injustice.
So, let’s dive in and hear from Gigi and Dr. G. All aboard!
